About the Event
Association executives are not just leading an organization, but often are leading a profession or industry. To do so, they need to set a solid strategy, navigating between focus and flexibility, be able to define and execute the underlying tactics required to get the job done.
Yet, before any of that can be developed, executives need to recognize what skills, tools, and support they’ll need to accomplish strategic and tactical responsibilities. In this interactive session led by the European Society of Association Executives (ESAE), dive in with peers as we take a moment for self-evaluation, to determine what are you good at and what skills and resources you need to round out your strengths to address common scenarios associations and societies face.
Much talk in recent years has centered around leading through crisis, which requires the ability to respond quickly to a changing environment. However, organizations can’t remain in a reactionary mode forever, or they risk staff and member burn-out. So what skills are needed to strategically stabilize and grow an association while being ready to adjust as needed? How can you further develop capabilities while juggling a full plate of responsibilities? How do you identify what you need as well as what staff, volunteers or vendors need to contribute so you have the full capability to get the work done? Explore what’s in your Executive Toolkit and what you can add next.
