Secretary General

Are you a strategic, proactive, and experienced leader eager to shape European waste and circular economy policy?

Municipal Waste Europe (MWE) is looking for a Secretary General to lead the organisation and its Secretariat. You will manage daily operations, oversee staff and budgets, coordinate with members and stakeholders, and represent MWE at EU level. You will also drive policy engagement on waste management, circular economy, resource efficiency, and sustainability.

We seek candidates with proven senior leadership experience in European or international multi-stakeholder organisations, deep knowledge of EU waste policy, strong governance skills, and professional fluency in English (French an asset). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, are essential.

Bioenergy Europe is looking for an Office Operations & Administration Assistant to help run daily office operations, assist with ENplus® certification tasks, and support events and team activities. You will coordinate with service providers, manage correspondence, and maintain a welcoming office environment.

​

We seek candidates fluent in English, highly organised, autonomous, and detail-oriented. Experience in office management, administration, or certification is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle multiple tasks are essential.

​

This full-time position is based in Brussels, starting as soon as possible, with the option of a 6-month paid internship followed by a permanent contract or direct permanent employment.
