About the Event

As we are slowly resuming our work and social interactions, we realize that some of the habits that we adopted during the confinement are here to stay. Associations, in particular, saw a heavy disruption in a vast array of their activities and we haven’t experienced the consequences of the pandemic crisis in all their magnitude yet. Advocacy is clearly one of the sectors that had to adapt to remain relevant and make sure that civil society remains a strong pillar in the decision-making and the implementation process. New ways of conducting advocacy were invented and others were reinforced, embracing new technologies and becoming more agile.

It is estimated that even after the COVID-19 pandemic is over, it will remain much more difficult to meet with policymakers in person. How do Associations adapt to the new reality and how do they make sure that they remain effective in the midst of an avalanche of emails, conference calls, and social media posts?

Join us in an interactive session moderated by ESAE’s Advocacy Committee Chair, Wouter Lox on Tuesday 14 July to take a look into the future of Advocacy with the help of distinguished speakers from a diverse array of Organisations and a European Commission representative, each with their unique point of view.

Speakers:

Werner Bosmans, Policy Officer - Circular Economy at the European Commission.

Tommy Goodwin, Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Lead at Project Management Institute.

Sherry Stanley Whitworth, Managing Director, Public Affairs and Advocacy, FiscalNote.

Will Surman, Director of Public Affairs and Communications at FoodDrinkEurope.

Pieter Carette, Owner, SiteOptimo
