More than 160 Association Executives and Leaders joined the IBTM World Association Leaders

Forum in November 2024 receiving and sharing knowledge on Fostering Innovation to

Overcome Global Challenges, a program designed by ESAE tapping on the collective

knowledge and expanding it to cover both practical and strategic issues that Associations are

facing today.

If Association professionals wish to steer their organisations clear of trouble, and better serve

their members, they need to balance executive governance and risk management with

innovating and adapting to challenges.

The program explored how to integrate AI in Associations Strategic Planning, and how to use

the possibilities offered by the new technologies to make our conferences and events more

impactful, engaging and financially sustainable, while continuing the commitment to establish

a greener future.

We shall also take a closer look at our staff, the backbone of our organisations, and try to

understand how to ensure wellbeing in the workplace while equipping them with the right

tools and upskilling for them to perform in an efficient and rewarding manner.

Last but not least, we must not forget that 2024 has a pivotal election year at a global scale.

From India to the UK, and from the EU to the U.S., the electoral results and the ongoing

geopolitical challenges increase the risk potential, which Associations need to take into

consideration when planning ahead if they wish to remain relevant.
